An excitation vector generator is provided which is capable of generating an excitation vector whose shape has a statistically high similarity to the shape of a random excitation obtained by analyzing an input speech signal. A speech coder/decoder, a signal communication system, a signal recording system and a speech recording system is provided which use the above excitation vector generator as a random codebook so as to obtain a synthetic speech having a higher quality than that in which an algebraic excitation vector generator is used as a random codebook. The excitation vector generator comprises a pulse vector generating section for generating pulse vectors, a storing section for storing a plurality of dispersion patterns, a selecting section for selecting a dispersion pattern from the storing section and a dispersion section for performing a superimposing calculation of the extracted dispersion pattern and the generated pulse vectors so as to generate N dispersion vectors.
Un générateur de vecteurs d'excitation peut produire un vecteur d'excitation dont la forme présente une similarité statistique très proche de la forme d'une excitation aléatoire obtenue par analyse d'un signal d'entrée vocal. Un codec vocal, un système de communication de signaux, un système d'enregistrement de signaux et un système d'enregistrement vocal qui font appel au générateur de vecteurs d'excitation ci-dessus comme livre de codes aléatoires, permettent d'obtenir une parole synthétique de meilleure qualité que par l'utilisation d'un générateur de vecteurs d'excitation algébrique comme livre de codes aléatoires. Le générateur de vecteurs d'excitation comprend une section de production de vecteurs d'impulsions pour produire des vecteurs d'impulsions, une section de stockage pour stocker de multiples diagrammes de dispersion, une section de sélection pour sélectionner un diagramme de dispersion à partir de la section de stockage et une section de dispersion pour effectuer un calcul de superposition du diagramme de dispersion extrait et les vecteurs d'impulsions produits de façon à produire N vecteurs de dispersion.
