A novel method and apparatus for generating PN sequences with an arbitrary number of bits, where the number of bits is provided in parallel with each clock pulse is described. This allows the sequences to be generated at high speed when needed, and allows parallel processing in the acquisition and demodulation processes. In the invention, the initial values of states are loaded into registers of a parallel PN generator, which immediately generates the next n bits of the PN sequence, where n is an arbitrary number dependent on performance required. Then, a first sub-part of the PN generator (406) of the present invention receives the present state of the PN generator (406) and outputs the state of the PN generator (406)n bits in the future.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif servant à produire des séquences à bruits pseudoaléatoires contenant un nombre arbitraire de bits, ce nombre de bits étant produit en parallèle par rapport à chaque impulsion d'horloge. Cela permet de produire la séquence à une grande vitesse lorsque nécessaire, et permet un traitement en parallèle lors de l'acquisition et de la démodulation. Dans cette invention, les valeurs initiales des états sont chargées dans des registrer d'un générateur à bruit pseudoaléatoire parallèle qui produit immédiatement les n bits suivants de la séquence à bits pseudoaléatoire, n étant un nombre arbitraire dépendant de la commande désirée. Puis, une première sous-partie du générateur (406) à bruit pseudoaléatoire reçoit l'état actuel du générateur (406) à bruit pseudoaléatoire et transfère cet état n bits en avant.
