A method of inspecting the integrity of a tubular having a wall thickness, which method comprises the steps of: (a) with an inspection means taking measurements representative of the wall thickness around substantially the entire circumference at a plurality of locations along substantially the entire length of said tubular; (b) generating electronic data from said measurements representative of the wall thickness over substantially the entire tubular; and (c) electronically storing substantially all of said electronic data, the storage of data representing wall thickness over substantially the entire tubular facilitating both estimation of the overall mechanical properties of the tubular and identification of localised defects.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'inspection de l'intégrité d'un élément tubulaire présentant une certaine épaisseur de paroi. Ce procédé comprend les étapes consistant: (a) au moyen d'un système d'inspection, à prendre les mesures représentatives de l'épaisseur de la paroi sur sensiblement la totalité de la circonférence au niveau d'une pluralité d'emplacements sur sensiblement toute la longueur dudit élément tubulaire; (b) à produire des données électroniques à partir desdites mesures représentatives de l'épaisseur de paroi sur sensiblement la totalité de l'élément tubulaire; et (c) à stocker par voie électronique sensiblement la totalité desdites données électroniques, le stockage des données représentatives de l'épaisseur de paroi sur sensiblement la totalité dudit élément tubulaire facilitant l'estimation des propriétés mécaniques globales de l'élément tubulaire, et l'identification de défauts localisés.
