A method for receiving a parcel to be shipped to a destination via at least one shipment provider. The method comprises receiving from a sender shipping information associated with the shipment of the parcel to be shipped, the shipping information including destination information and payment information. The method further comprises receiving at a drop-off unit the parcel to be shipped from the sender. The method further comprises associating the shipping information received from the sender with the received parcel. The method still further comprises generating at the drop-off unit a signal to be transmitted to the at least one shipment provider, the signal being indicative that at least one parcel has been received at the drop-off unit.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de recevoir un colis à expédier à une destination par l'intermédiaire d'au moins un prestataire d'expédition. Le procédé comprend la réception par un expéditeur des informations d'expédition associées à l'expédition du colis à expédier, les informations d'expédition comprenant des informations de destination et des informations de paiement. Le procédé comprend en outre la réception au niveau d'une unité de livraison du colis à expédier provenant de l'expéditeur. Le procédé comprend en outre l'association des informations d'expédition reçues de l'expéditeur avec le colis reçu. Le procédé comprend en outre la génération au niveau de l'unité de livraison d'un signal à transmettre à un ou plusieurs prestataires d'expédition, le signal étant indicatif du fait qu'au moins un colis a été reçu au niveau de l'unité de livraison.
