The fuel in the reservoir being maintained at a substantially steady pressure. Delivering oil to the engine by a positive displacement pump having a delivery capacity per pump cycle greater than the maximum oil requirement of the engine per cycle. The oil pump being activated in response to the consumption of fuel from the fuel reservoir to maintain a substantially uniform predetermined ratio between the fuel consumption rate and the oil delivery rate.
