A method and apparatus for routing calls for a subscriber based on the identification of the calling party or the originating line. Generally, the present invention operates to identify a calling party or originating line and then select a routing list based on this identification. Once a routing list has been selected, the call will be routed to the destination in the routing list. More specifically, when a call is received, an inquiry is made regarding the identity of the calling party or calling line. If the identification can be determined, then an attempt to retrieve a routing list associated with this identification is made. If a routing list has been provided for the identified party or line, the routing list will be retrieved. If a routing list has not been provided for the identified party or line, a default routing list will be selected for routing the call.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil d'acheminement d'appels destinés à un abonné, fonctionnant sur la base de l'identification de l'appelant ou de la ligne appelante. De manière générale, la présente invention sert à identifier un appelant ou une ligne appelante, puis à sélectionner une liste d'acheminement en fonction de l'identification qui a été faite. Une fois qu'une liste d'acheminement a été sélectionnée, l'appel est acheminé vers la destination figurant sur cette liste. En particulier, suite à la réception d'un appel, une enquête est menée sur l'identité de l'appelant ou de la ligne appelante. Si l'identification peut être déterminée, alors une tentative de récupération de la liste d'acheminement associée à l'identification est exécutée. S'il existe une liste d'acheminement pour l'abonné ou la ligne identifié, cette liste est alors récupérée, mais si cette liste n'existe pas, une liste d'acheminement implicite est sélectionnée de manière à acheminer l'appel.
