A system and method for updating a display unit remotely located from a computing system are described. The method includes copying display information from a video buffer of a computing device executing an application to generate a display update, calculating a size of the display update, and determining an amount of available bandwidth of a network connecting the computing device and the display unit. The method also includes calculating a time period required to communicate the display update from the computing device to the display unit, transmitting the display update to the display; and repeating the method after the time period has elapsed.
L'invention porte sur un système et sur un procédé de mise à jour d'un afficheur placé à distance d'un système informatique. Le procédé consiste à copier des informations données par l'afficheur dans un tampon vidéo d'un calculateur exécutant une application afin de générer une mise à jour de l'affichage, évaluer le format de la mise à jour de l'affichage et déterminer une quantité de largeur de bande disponible d'un réseau connectant le calculateur à l'afficheur. Le procédé consiste également à calculer la durée requise pour communiquer la mise à jour de l'affichage du calculateur à l'afficheur, envoyer à l'afficheur la mise à jour et répéter le procédé au bout d'un certain temps.
