A method and arrangement for establishing a packet-switched multimedia session for a mobile terminal (A) in communication with another party (B) , wherein a primary PDP (Packet Data Protocol) context has been activated in a mobile network for the mobile terminal. Information on the forthcoming session is received (step 5:3) which has been negotiated and agreed between the communicating parties. It is then determined (step 5:4) whether any network resources providing a required QoS are needed for the session, and whether a secondary PDP context is to be activated for the mobile terminal and the forthcoming session. If network resources are needed and a secondary PDP context is to be activated, the activation of said secondary PDP context is triggered (step 5:5).

Procédé et installation pour l'établissement de session multimédia à commutation par paquets sur terminal mobile (A) en communication avec une autre partie (B) : on a activé un contexte PDP (protocole de données par paquets) primaire dans un réseau mobile pour le terminal mobile. L'information relative à la session qui s'annonce est reçue (étape 5:3) après négociation et accord entre les deux parties. On détermine ensuite (étape 5:4) si des ressources de réseau assurant une qualité de service (QoS) requise sont nécessaires pour la session, et si un contexte PDP secondaire doit être activé pour le terminal mobile et la session à venir. Si des ressources de réseau sont requises et si un contexte PDP secondaire est activé, l'activation du contexte PDP secondaire est déclenchée (étape 5:5).
