A cowl assembly for an engine nacelle including a first and second cowl door mounted for movement between an open position and a closed position. A latch assembly retains the first and second cowl doors in the closed position by having a latch retained in a latch housing on the first cowl door to engage a keeper retained in a keeper housing on the second cowl door. A pin retains the latch to the latch housing. The pin defines an internal bore. A sensor in the internal bore determines a signal indicative of a load on the pin, wherein the signal is determinative of whether the cowl doors are in the open or closed position. A transmitter conveys the signal to a location remote from the sensor. The signal can also be used to set the pre-load on the latch assembly.

L'invention porte sur un ensemble de capot pour un fuseau moteur, incluant des première et seconde portes de capot montées de manière à passer d'une position ouverte à une position fermée. Un dispositif de verrouillage retient lesdites première et seconde portes de capot en position fermée par l'entrée en prise d'un verrou retenu dans un boîtier de verrou sur la première porte de capot dans une gâche retenue dans un boîtier de gâche sur la seconde porte de capot. Une broche permet de solidariser le verrou au boîtier de verrou. La broche définit un alésage interne. Un capteur, situé dans l'alésage interne, détermine un signal indicateur d'une charge exercée sur la broche, ledit signal permettant de déterminer si les portes de capot sont en position ouverte ou en position fermée. Un émetteur permet de convoyer le signal vers un emplacement distant du capteur. Le signal peut également être utilisé pour définir la précharge exercée sur le dispositif de verrouillage.
