A method and composition for the bonding of fibres to rubbers, the method comprising the steps of treating the fibres with a primer, treating the fibres with a resorcinol/formalin/latex preparation and curing the rubber in intimate contact with the treated fibres, wherein the primer comprises a ring-opened, maleinised polybutadiene and a phenolic derivative comprising electron- withdrawing groups. The composition can be the primer alone or in combination with the primer alone or in combination with the resorcinol/formalin/latex preparation.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et une composition permettant de lier des fibres à des caoutchoucs, lequel procédé consiste à traiter les fibres avec un primaire, à traiter les fibres avec une préparation de resorcinol/formaline/latex et à faire durcir le caoutchouc en contact étroit avec les fibres traitées, le primaire étant composé d'un polybutadiène maléinisé à cycle ouvert et d'un dérivé phénolique comprenant des groupes capteurs d'électrons. La composition peut être composée du primaire seul ou du primaire combiné à la préparation de resorcinol/formaline/latex.
