To be able to cool telecommunications equipment in rack cabinets located in closed spaces in an energy-saving way with high operational reliability and little need of maintenance and with few movable parts there has been developed a method and a device, in which displacing air distribution and gravity flow are combined and applied for cooling of said equipment. Cold intake air is distributed at low speed, i.e. it displacingly flows out into a room towards the racks. The cold air is then fed to the racks in order to cool heat-producing components placed therein. The heated air is then discharged from the upper side of the racks and is recirculated at low speed so as to avoid turbulence at the intake of the refrigerating machine.

Afin de refroidir des installations de télécommunications dans des ensembles à baies situés dans des espaces fermés, de façon économique et fiable, nécessitant peu d'entretien et de pièces mobiles, on a mis au point un procédé et un dispositif combinant la répartition de la circulation d'air et l'écoulement par gravité, afin de refroidir lesdites installations. L'air d'entrée froid est répartie à vitesse lente, c'est-à-dire qu'il circule vers l'intérieur de la pièce vers les baies (2). L'air froid est ensuite introduit dans les baies, afin de refroidir les composants générateurs de chaleur qu'elles contiennent. L'air réchauffé est ensuite évacué depuis le côté supérieur des baies et remis en circulation à vitesse lente, de façon à empêcher les turbulences au niveau de l'entrée de la machine de refroidissement.
