A method and device for monitoring a mobile telephone repeater are disclosed. The repeater is of the kind comprising an uplink (100) and a downlink (200) between two antennas (1, 2), wherein the repeater receives, amplifies and retransmits signals between a base station and a mobile telephone. A stability test is performed automatically, whereby a possible continuous and strong signal, being caused either by an instability involving a positive feedback between the two antennas or by a disturbing signal, is detected, whereupon the amplifying gain is adjusted in response to the result of the stability test. The test criterion includes the step of checking whether the level of the input signal in the respective amplifier chain exceeds a threshold value during at least a major portion of a measuring period.

Procédé et dispositif de commande d'un répéteur de téléphone mobile. Le répéteur est du type comprenant une liaison montante (100) et une liaison descendante (200) entre deux antennes (1, 2), dans des conditions telles que ce répéteur reçoit, amplifie et retransmet des signaux entre une station de base et un téléphone mobile. Un test de stabilité s'effectue automatiquement, de manière à capter un signal éventuel continu et puissant généré soit par une instabilité mettant en cause un effet rétroactif positif entre les deux antennes ou par un signal perturbateur, après quoi le gain d'amplification est ajusté en fonction du résultat de test de stabilité. Le critère de test prévoit l'étape consistant à vérifier si le niveau du signal d'entrée dans la chaîne d'amplification correspondante dépasse une valeur seuil pendant au moins la majeure partie de la période de mesure.
