An additional information signal is superimposed on a video signal at a very low level so that it does not stand out on the reproduced image. Spectral spreading code sequences are generated corresponding to different predetermined parts of the video signal. Bit information signals of the additional information signal comprising plural bits are spectrally spread by the spreading codes to generate spectrally spread bit information signals corresponding to the plural bits. The spectrally spread bit information signals are superimposed on corresponding different predetermined parts of the video signal. As high priority bit information signals of the spectrally spread additional information signal are superimposed on high priority parts of the video signal, high priority information in the additional information can be protected even if the video signal is modified.
Un signal d'information additionnel est superposé à un signal vidéo à un niveau très bas de façon à être pratiquement imperceptible dans l'image reproduite. Des suites de codes d'étalement spectral sont produites correspondant à différentes parties prédéterminées du signal vidéo. Des signaux binaires extraits du signal d'information additionnel et comportant plusieurs bits sont soumis à un étalement du spectre par les codes d'étalement, lesquels produisent des signaux d'information binaires à spectre étalé correspondant à la multiplicité de bits. Ces signaux sont superposés aux différentes parties prédéterminées correspondantes du signal vidéo. € mesure que les signaux d'information binaires de haute priorité faisant partie du signal d'information additionnel à spectre étalé sont superposés aux parties à haute priorité du signal vidéo, l'information à haute priorité contenue dans l'information additionnelle peut être protégée même si le signal vidéo est modifié.
