A device for controlling the optical response of a Bragg grating has a block of aluminum to which is continuously attached a length of an optical fiber with Bragg grating impressed therein. The attachment allows for heat transfer between the block and the grating. Two different temperature levels are maintained at two ends of the grating by controllably heating the block at the corresponding ends. The simultaneous graded heating and expansion of the block produces dynamic chirping of the grating withattendant improved reflectivity profile of the grating.

Dispositif utilisé pour régler la réponse optique d'un réseau de Bragg. Il comporte un bloc d'aluminium auquel est attachée de manière continue une longueur de fibre optique où est imprimé un réseau de Bragg. Ce rattachement permet le transfert de chaleur entre le bloc et le réseau. Deux niveaux de température différents sont conservés aux deux extrémités du réseau en chauffant de manière contrôlée le bloc aux extrémités correspondantes. Le chauffage progressif et simultané du bloc et son expansion provoquent une modification dynamique du réseau s'accompagnant d'une amélioration du profil de réflectivité de ce dernier.
