A method and system of synchronizing accounting objects between a client and server are provided. In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a method for use on a server of synchronizing data between a client accounting database on a client computer and the server accounting database on the server, the client computer and server being connected over a communication network by a persistent connection, each of the client accounting database and server accounting database comprising a number of tables, wherein accounting objects are defined by a group of one or more related records in one or more tables in the client accounting database and server accounting database, the method comprising: detecting one or more records in the server accounting database which have changed since a previous synchronization; identifying one or more accounting objects to be synchronized in accordance with the one or more changed records; and sending instructions to the client computer to synchronize the one or more accounting objects defined by the one or more changed records in the server accounting database with the client accounting database, wherein the one or more accounting objects are synchronized in accordance with a synching order defining an order in which accounting objects are synchronized.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système permettant de synchroniser les objets de comptabilité entre un client et un serveur. Selon un mode de réalisation, l'invention propose un procédé à mettre en uvre sur un serveur et permettant de synchroniser les données entre une base de données de comptabilité de client sur un ordinateur client, et la base de données de comptabilité de serveur sur le serveur. En l'occurrence, l'ordinateur client et le serveur sont connectés par l'intermédiaire d'un réseau de communication, au moyen d'une liaison permanente. La base de données de comptabilité du client et la base de données de comptabilité du serveur comprennent chacune un certain nombre de tables. Les objets de comptabilité sont définis par un groupe constitué d'un ou de plusieurs enregistrements ayant des relations entre eux et se trouvant dans une ou plusieurs tables hébergées par la base de données de comptabilité du client et la base de données de comptabilité du serveur. Le procédé consiste à détecter dans la base de données de comptabilité du serveur un ou plusieurs enregistrements qui ont changé depuis une synchronisation antérieure; à identifier un ou plusieurs objets de comptabilité à synchroniser en fonction du ou des enregistrements qui ont changé; et à envoyer à l'ordinateur client des instructions visant à synchroniser le ou les objets de comptabilité définis par le ou les enregistrements qui ont changé dans la base de données de comptabilité du serveur avec la base de données de comptabilité du client, le ou les objets de comptabilité étant synchronisés en fonction d'un ordre de synchronisation définissant un ordre dans lequel les objets de comptabilité sont synchronisés.
