The present invention provides a novel method for applying liquid plastic polymers to soil surfaces in order to form a continuous membrane film for soil mulch. The method related to in the present invention comprises: a) smoothing and saturating the soil surface, b) coating the said soil with plastic coats by spraying an appropriate polymer formulation for forming said plastic coats on said soil by spraying means, wherein the polymer formulation is applied in at least two coats, first a basic coat consisting of a diluted formulation of the polymer and successively other coats consisting up to 40 % polymer and wherein the spraying means are comprised of a sprayer unit consisting of a boom whose spraying line is mounted with flat fan nozzles placed at short distances apart. The plastic mulch produced by the method of the present invention is useful particularly for enhancing crop production, disinfestation of soil by solarization and prevention of soil erosion.

Nouveau procédé permettant d'appliquer des polymères plastiques liquides sur des sols afin de former un film continu servant recouvrir ces sols. Ledit procédé consiste (a) à lisser et à saturer la surface du sol, (b) à recouvrir le sol avec un revêtement plastique par pulvérisation d'une composition polymère appropriée pour former la couverture de plastique sur le sol. Ladite composition polymère est appliquée en deux couches au moins, d'abord une couche de base constituée d'une formulation diluée du polymère et ensuite d'autres couches successivement comprenant jusqu'à 40 % de polymère. Le dispositif de pulvérisation est constitué d'une unité de pulvérisation comportant une rampe dont la ligne de pulvérisation est dotée de buses à jet plat placées à une faible distance les unes des autres. La couverture plastique produite par le procédé de la présente invention est utile particulièrement pour améliorer la production de plantes cultivées, la désinfection du sol par solarisation et la prévention de l'érosion du sol.
