An apparatus and method for communication between low potential level and a valve of a high voltage converter station located on high voltage potential level is provided. The apparatus comprises means adapted to send serial messages on lightconductors between a valve control unit and a first control unit for controllingsemiconductor components of the valve of turn-on type on high voltage potential level in periods of time when the respective light conductor is free from signals associated with a change in the conducting state of the semiconductor component, such as turn-on and/or indications signals.
L'invention est constituée par un appareil et une méthode de communication entre un point de potentiel bas et un commutateur de convertisseur haute tension se trouvant à un potentiel élevé. L'appareil de l'invention comprend un dispositif adapté pour transmettre des messages en série sur des guides de lumières qui relie l'unité de commande du commutateur et une première unité de commande servant à commander les composants à semi-conducteur du commutateur durant les intervalles de temps où le guide de lumière connexe ne transmet aucun signal associé à un changement de l'état de conduction du dispositif à semi-conducteur correspondant, tel qu'un signal de mise sous tension et/ou d'indication.
