L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de commander une pale directrice par rapport au sens du vent, en particulier dans un moteur éolien et un moteur à eau avec un axe perpendiculaire au sens du vent. Dans des cycles de rotations consécutifs d'un châssis (1) du moteur, la pale directrice (6, 7), reliée via une distribution (R) à un gouvernail (30, 38), est fixée dans un cycle de travail ou dans un cycle d'attente selon la direction de son mouvement par rapport au sens du vent, la rotation complète de la pale directrice (6, 7) autour de son axe demandant deux rotations du châssis du moteur.
