In a method for controlling a Voltage Source Converter having at least one phase leg comprising a series connection of switching elements (7), in which each said element has at least two semi- conductor devices (16, 17) of turn-off type, at least two free- wheeling diodes (18, 19) connected in parallel therewith and at least one energy storing capacitor (20), each said switching element is controlled according to a Pulse Width Modulation pattern so that each switching element is switched to change between applying a zero voltage and the voltage across its capacitor across its terminals each time a saw tooth voltage wave for that switching element crosses a reference alternating voltage belonging to that switching element.
L'invention porte sur un procédé de commande d'un convertisseur de source de tension ayant au moins une jambe de phase comprenant un montage série d'éléments de commutation (7), chacun desdits éléments ayant au moins deux dispositifs à semi-conducteur (16, 17) de type à blocage, au moins deux diodes de roue libre (18, 19) reliées en parallèle à ceux-ci et au moins un condensateur de stockage d'énergie (20), chacun desdits éléments de commutation étant commandé selon une séquence de modulation d'impulsion en durée de sorte que chaque élément de commutation est commuté pour changer entre l'application d'une tension nulle et de la tension aux bornes de son condensateur entre ses bornes chaque fois qu'un signal de tension en dents de scie pour cet élément de commutation croise une tension alternative de référence appartenant à cet élément de commutation.
