The present invention is directed to a method for reducing monomer loss during curing of a high internal phase emulsion. The method has the steps of: forming a water-in-oil emulsion, curing the monomer component in the emulsion in a saturated steam environment, and forming a saturated polymeric foam material. The water-in-oil emulsion has an aqueous phase and an oil phase comprising a monomer component.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour réduire la perte de monomères durant le durcissement d'une émulsion à phase interne élevée. Ce procédé consiste à préparer une émulsion eau dans huile, à faire durcir le composant monomère de l'émulsion dans un environnement de vapeur d'eau saturée, et à former une matière alvéolaire polymère saturée, l'émulsion eau dans huile ayant une phase aqueuse et une phase huileuse contenant un composant monomère.
