A method for determining the effectiveness of a treatment for preeclampsia of a pregnant woman at risk for preeclampsia, the method comprising: (a) determining a first concentration of placental protein 13 (PP13) in a bodily substance of the woman obtained prior to the treatment; (b) determining a second concentration of PP13 in a bodily substance of the woman obtained after initiation of the treatment; and (c) comparing the first and second concentrations to a corresponding normal level of PP13 and, based on the comparison, determining the effectiveness of the treatment. Diagnostic kits for practicing the method are also disclosed.

L'invention concerne une méthode qui permet de déterminer l'efficacité d'un traitement contre la prééclampsie offert à une femme enceinte susceptible de développer une prééclampsie. La méthode consiste à: a) déterminer une première concentration de la protéine placentaire 13 (PP13) dans une substance corporelle de la femme recueillie avant ledit traitement; b) déterminer une seconde concentration de PP13 dans une substance corporelle de la femme recueillie après le début du traitement; et c) comparer la première et la seconde concentration à un taux de PP13 normal correspondant et, sur la base de cette comparaison, déterminer l'efficacité du traitement. L'invention concerne en outre des trousses de diagnostic destinées à la mise en oeuvre de la méthode.
