Described is a method for diagnosing a person having multiple sclerosis (MS) or being at risk of developing MS, comprising the following steps: - providing a sample of a body fluid or tissue from said person, said sample containing at least one of the wild type SCF-Apoptosis-Response Gene- (wt-SARG-1-) protein and nucleic acids encoding wt-SARG-1, if taken from a person not having MS or a risk of acquiring MS; - detecting the presence of wt-SARG-1-protein or nucleic acids encoding wt-SARG-1 in said sample and diagnosing MS or a risk of aquiring MS, if wt-SARG-1-protein or nucleic acids encoding wt-SARG-1 are not present in said sample.
L'invention concerne une méthode destinée à diagnostiquer, chez une personne, une sclérose en plaques (SEP) ou un risque de développer une SEP. Cette méthode consiste à prélever un échantillon d'un liquide organique ou d'un tissu cellulaire sur cette personne, ledit échantillon contenant au moins une protéine du gène de réponse à l'apoptose SCF de type sauvage (wt-SARG-1) et/ou des acides nucléiques codant pour wt-SARG-1 si la personne en question ne présente pas de SEP ou de risque de développer une SEP, à détecter la présence de la protéine wt-SARG-1 et/ou d'acides nucléiques codant pour wt-SARG-1 dans cet échantillon, puis à diagnostiquer une SEP ou un risque de développer une SEP si la protéine wt-SARG-1 ou les acides nucléiques codant pour wt-SARG-1 ne sont pas présents dans ledit échantillon.
