A method for drying wood plates using hot plates according to the present invention is an improvement of a method comprising inserting wood plates respectively into spaces between a plurality of hot plates layered in steps. In a method for drying wood plates using hot plates according to the present invention, while the wood plates are held, pressed and heat dried by and between the hot plates, a part of spaces between the hot plates are opened and dried wood plates are discharged from the opened spaces between the hot plates and undried wood plates are inserted into the opened spaces between the hot plates. Therefore, while the hot plates from which wood plates are not discharged or between which wood plates are not inserted now are kept in pressed state, a part of spaces between the hot plates are opened and dried wood plates are discharged from the opened spaces between the hot plates and undried wood plates are inserted into the opened spaces between the hot plates. Only the hot plates from which wood plates are discharged or between which wood plates are inserted are opened, and other hot plates are kept in pressed state.
