A method and system for fingerprint template synthesis from multiple fingerprint images is provided. A first set of minutiae points is extracted from a first fingerprint image. A second set of minutiae points is extracted from a second fingerprint image. The orientation is calculated for a plurality of minutiae points selected from the first set of minutiae points based on the first fingerprint image. Simulated points are added to the first set of minutiae points, wherein simulated points are created based on the location and orientation of minutiae points in the plurality of minutiae points. The first set of minutiae points and the second set of minutiae points are registered and the first set of minutiae points and the second set of minutiae points are combined.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système pour la synthèse de modèles d'empreintes digitales à partir de plusieurs images d'empreintes digitales. Un premier ensemble de points caractéristiques est extrait d'une première image d'empreintes numériques. Un second ensemble de points caractéristiques est extrait d'une seconde image d'empreintes digitales. L'orientation est calculée pour plusieurs points caractéristiques sélectionnés à partir du premier ensemble de points caractéristiques sur la base de la première image d'empreintes digitales. Des points simulés sont ajoutés au premier ensemble de points caractéristiques, les points simulés étant crées sur la base de l'emplacement et de l'orientation des points caractéristiques dans les multiples points caractéristiques. Le premier ensemble de points caractéristiques et le second ensemble de points caractéristiques sont enregistrés puis le premier ensemble et le second ensemble sont combinés.
