Using Zero Make Ready Bed Die Cutting, the top surface of the Cutting Plate/Platen/counter of a Flat Bed Die Cutting Machine is etched or engraved by laser or other method, to create a "female" channel. The channel should be sufficiently deep and wide, to accommodate the male cutting blades of the Cutting Forme being used. Cutting blade contact with the base of the channel, whilst not desirable, may occur due to reasons of machine age and/or wear or Operator ability or preference. The fundamentals of Zero Make-Ready remain unaffected. The Cutting Plate/Platen can be of a single or multi layered composition and should be affixed and registered at the same time that the cutting Forme is loaded and located. Using centre lines, locating pins, or any other method of registering the two, the female channel must register with and accommodate, the male cutting blades to affect a clean cut of the required design of die cut blank or shape.
Selon un procédé de découpage à plat sans mise en train, la surface supérieure de la plaque de découpe/platine/compteuse de la machine de découpage à plat est gravée par laser ou par un autre procédé de façon à créer un canal. Le canal doit être suffisamment profond et large pour loger les lames de découpe mâles de l'emporte-pièce utilisé. Le contact de la lame de découpe avec la base du canal, bien que n'étant pas souhaitable, peut se produire du fait de l'âge et/ou de l'usure de la machine ou de la compétence ou des préférences de l'opérateur. Les bases du processus sans mise en train restent inchangées. La plaque/platine de découpe peut être formée d'une composition monocouche ou multicouche et doit être fixée et alignée au moment où est chargée et positionnée l'emporte-pièce. A l'aide de lignes centrales, de broches de positionnement ou de tout autre procédé d'alignement, le canal doit coïncider avec les lames de découpe et les accueillir de façon à obtenir une coupe nette du modèle requis de l'ébauche ou forme découpée à l'emporte-pièce.
