A method for generating sentences of text for selected medical findings in an electronic medical diagnostic system (10) is disclosed. First, a descriptive phrase for each medical finding is created. Each descriptive phrase is then analyzed to determine possible truncation points for modifying the descriptive phrase of one medical finding if another medical finding is also selected. A code at each possible truncation point is then entered into the phrase. Language to be inserted at each of the truncation points is then created and the descriptive phrase and modifying language are stored in database file (20) and knowledge base file (22). Finally, the stored descriptive phrases and modifying language are then combined to form a readable text on display (12) for the medical findings selected from the databases.
L'invention porte sur un procédé de production de phrases de texte utilisées dans des observations médicales sélectionnées à l'intérieur d'un système (10) électronique de diagnostic. Une première phrase descriptive est tout d'abord créée pour chacune des observations médicales. Chacune des phrases descriptives est ensuite analysée pour déterminer les points de coupure possibles afin de modifier les phrases correspondant à une observation médicale si une autre observation est aussi sélectionnée. Un code est alors entré dans la phrase à chacun des points de coupure possibles. On crée alors le langage à insérer en chaque point de coupure et la phrase descriptive ainsi que le langage modificateur sont enregistrés dans un fichier (20) de base de données et dans un fichier (22) de base de connaissances. Finalement les phrases descriptives ainsi que le langage modificateur sont alors combinés pour former sur écran (12) un texte lisible d'observations médicales sélectionnées dans les bases de données.
