An apparatus (15) for dealing cards at a casino gaming table. The apparatus, or dealer shoe, has a base (20) and a card roller (25). The base holds a deck or decks of cards (17) while in use. The card roller is movably connected to the base and applies a downward pressure on the cards in the base so that they may be removed from the base. The card roller is moved into a resting place within the base when cards are removed to be shuffled, facilitating removal and insertion of the cards. By resting in the base, the card roller is protected from damage. The invention also relates to a method for providing access to and removal of cards in a dealer shoe.
L'invention concerne un appareil (15) de distribution de cartes à une table de jeux de casino. L'appareil, ou sabot de distribution, comporte une base (20) et un rouleau (25) à cartes. Lors de l'utilisation, la base supporte un ou plusieurs jeux de cartes (17). Le rouleau à cartes est relié mobile à la base et exerce sur les cartes dans la base une pression vers le bas, afin qu'elles puissent être retirées de la base. Lorsqu'on retire les cartes pour les mélanger, le rouleau à cartes se déplace dans un emplacement de repos à l'intérieur de la base, ce qui facilite le retrait et l'insertion des cartes. En restant dans la base, le rouleau à cartes est protégé contre tout endommagement. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'accéder aux cartes dans un sabot de distribution et de les en retirer.
