A method for producing microlenses (4) comprises the steps of providing a carrier substrate (5), prestructuring the carrier substrate using the intaglio printing method, such that on a front of the carrier substrate raised regions are produced and on a back opposite of the front of the carrier substrate, recesses corresponding to the raised regions are produced, and applying trans-lucent plastic (7, 8) on at least one side of the carrier substrate in the region of the raised regions or recesses for forming microlen-ses.
