A method of treating a carbonaceous cell component of an electrolyte cell for the production of aluminum, to impart protection against deterioration during operation of the cell. A liquid suspension of a refractory material dispersed in a lignosulfonate binder solution is prepared and applied as a protective coating to the surface of carbonaceous cell components and allowed to dry.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de traiter un constituant carboné de cellule d'électrolyse pour produire de l'aluminium, afin d'assurer une protection contre la détérioration pendant le fonctionnement de la cellule. Une suspension liquide d'une matière réfractaire dispersée dans une solution à base de liant lignosulfonate est préparée et appliquée comme revêtement protecteur sur une surface de constituants cellulaires carbonés et est mise à sécher.
