The invention relates to a method for starting a firing device, in particular for first-time non-ignition of a gas burner, in unknown general conditions, a characteristic curve of a start air coefficient known from empirical calculations, being stored for the firing device in a memory in conjunction with the burner temperature. According to the invention, a calibration of the start profile is carried out. The ratio of opening of the gas valve (w) to the amount of air ML, required for ignition, is determined in an iterative manner by varying the amount of gas and/or air, and in the event of ignition, the firing device is started and the relevant air coefficient (.lambda.)IGNITION is recorded.

La présente invention concerne un procédé pour mettre en marche un système de chauffage, notamment en cas de d'échec d'allumage la première fois, en particulier un brûleur à gaz, dans des conditions générales inconnues. Pour le système de chauffage, une courbe caractéristique d'un coefficient d'air de mise en marche, déterminée à partir de calculs empiriques, en fonction de la température de brûleur, est enregistrée en mémoire. Un étalonnage du tracé de mise en marche est effectué. Le rapport nécessaire à l'allumage d'ouverture de la soupape de gaz (w) sur la quantité d'air M<SUB>L</SUB> est déterminé de façon itérative par variation de la quantité de gaz et/ou d'air et, en cas d'allumage, le système de chauffage est mis en marche et le coefficient d'air (?)<SUB>ALLUMAGE</SUB> appliqué est enregistré.
