A method and device for treating plactic film, according to which method plastic film web (22) used as packaging material is wrapped around the object to be packaged. According to the method, the plastic film layers (27, 28) are seamed together and the plastic film web (22) is cut off by heating the seaming point and cutting-off point by means of a heat radiator (34). Heat- absorbent counterpieces (33, 31) are preferably placed at both the seaming point and the cutting-off point, the said counterpieces being heated through the plactic layers. When the counterpieces absorb heat form the heating radiator, they heat up and at the same time heat the plastic films to be seamed and cut off. In the most advantageous embodiment, the infrared heat radiator is placed inside a tubular gripping counterpiece (32), which gripping counterpiece comprises slots (35, 36) through which the heat radiation is able to pass to the counterpieces. The colour and degree of darkness of the counterpieces has been selected such that they bring about the desired temperatures in the plastic films.

L'invention porte sur un procédé et un dispositif de traitement d'un film plastique. Selon ce procédé, on utilise comme matériau d'emballage une bande (22) de film plastique qui est enroulée autour d'un objet. On soude entre elles les couches (27, 28) de film plastique et on découpe la bande (22) de film plastique en chauffant le point de soudure et en découpant ce point au moyen d'un émetteur (34) de rayonnement thermique. On place des contre-pièces (33, 31) absorbant la chaleur de préférence au niveau du point de soudure et du point de découpe, ces contre-pièces étant chauffées par les couches plastiques. Lorsque les contre-pièces absorbent la chaleur émanant de l'émetteur, elles chauffent alors les films plastiques à souder et découper. Dans les réalisations les plus performantes, l'émetteur infrarouge est placé à l'intérieur d'une contre-pièce (32) tubulaire de retenue qui comporte des fentes (35, 36) par lesquelles le rayonnement thermique peut passer de façon à atteindre les contre-pièces. La couleur et le degré de luminosité des contre-pièces ont été sélectionnés de façon à obtenir les températures désirées dans les films plastiques.
