In a method in the fabrication of an organic thin-film semiconducting device comprising an electrode arrangement with electrodes contacting a semiconducting organic material, an anode in the electrode arrangement is made as a two-layer structure, where the first layer is a conducting or semiconducting material or a combination thereof deposited on a substrate and a second layer is a conducting polymer with a work function higher than that of the material in the first layer. A third layer consisting of semiconducting organic material and forming the active material of the device is deposited on the top of the anode, and the cathode made of a fourth layer of a metal deposited on a third layer. In a preferred embodiment a low work function metal is used in the first layer, a doped conjugated polymer such as PEDOT-PSS in the second layer, while the cathode may be formed of the same metal as used in the first layer. Use in the manufacturing of the electrode arrangement in an organic thin-film diode or in a transistor structure.
Ce procédé de fabrication d'un dispositif semi-conducteur à couches minces comprend un agencement d'électrodes entrant en contact avec un matériau organique semi-conducteur, ainsi qu'une anode placée dans l'agencement d'électrodes et composée d'une structure à deux couches, la première couche étant constituée d'un matériau conducteur ou semi-conducteur ou d'une combinaison de ceux-ci, déposée sur un substrat, et la seconde couche étant constituée d'un polymère conducteur à fonction de travail supérieure à celle du matériau de la première couche. Une troisième couche, composée d'un matériau organique semi-conducteur et formant le matériau actif du dispositif, est déposée sur le sommet de l'anode, la cathode étant réalisée au moyen d'une quatrième couche de métal déposée sur la troisième couche. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, on utilise dans la première couche un métal à faible fonction de travail, on utilise dans la seconde couche un polymère conjugué dopé tel que PEDOT-PSS, tandis que l'on peut former la cathode à l'aide du même métal que celui utilisé pour la première couche. L'invention concerne l'utilisation de cet agencement d'électrodes dans une diode à couches minces organiques ou dans une structure de transistor.
