A closure for a food can including a foil end panel (1) bonded to an intermediate ring (5) which is fixed to the can body. The foil panel (1) comprises a diaphragm having a centre panel which included at least one concentric bead. The profile of this beaded panel is selected so that its downward position is no greater than the lowest point of the intermediate ring. The provision of the bead(s) reduces pressure differences experienced by the diaphragm, particularly during processing of the can contents, due to the volume increase available from the beads.

L'invention concerne une fermeture pour une boîte de conserve comprenant un panneau d'extrémité en feuille métallique (1) relié à un anneau intermédiaire (5), fixé au corps de la boîte. Ce panneau en feuille métallique (1) comprend un diaphragme présentant un panneau central comprenant au moins une bille concentrique. Le profil de ce panneau présentant une bille est sélectionné de sorte que sa position vers le bas est égale ou plus basse au point le plus bas de l'anneau intermédiaire. Le fait qu'il y ait une bille ou des billes permet de réduire les différences de pression subies par le diaphragme, en particulier lors du traitement du contenu de la boîte, en raison de l'augmentation de volume disponible à partir des billes.
