A method for molecularly cross-linking amino acid-containing polymers by photoactivating chemical cross-linkers which have been combined with the polymers. Collagen cross-linked by this method can be used as a bioadhesive for sutureless closures of the skin and eye or as a superhydrated material for contact lenses, moist bandage contact lens, lens or corneal implant material, or as a drug delivery mechanism.

Procédé de réticulation moléculaire de polymères contenant des acides aminés par photosensibilisation de réticulants chimiques que l'on a combinés avec les polymères. On peut utiliser le collagène qui a été réticulé selon ce procédé comme bioadhésif pour la fermeture sans suture d'une plaie de la peau et des yeux ou comme matériau surhydraté destiné aux lentilles de contact, aux lentilles à pansement humide, au matériau d'implant de cristallin ou de la cornée, ou bien comme dispositif de diffusion de médicament.
