Methods of determining the identity of an unknown neighbor cell of a serving cell in a cellular communication system are disclosed, in which neighbor list information of at least one other cell of the communication system is used. In one embodiment, identification of the unknown neighbor from a plurality of candidate cells is based on whether the serving cell appears in the neighbor list of a candidate cell. In another embodiment, identification of the unknown neighbor from a plurality of candidate cells is based on whether the candidate cell is in the neighbor list of cells identified in measurement report information. In another embodiment, identification of the unknown neighbor from a plurality of candidate cells is based on whether the candidate cell is in the neighbor list of neighbor cells of the serving cell. In another embodiment, neighbor list information is used to generate a virtual network map of the communication system, and an unknown neighbor may be identified from the virtual network map.
La présente invention concerne des procédés permettant de déterminer l'identité d'une cellule voisine inconnue d'une cellule de desserte dans un système de communications cellulaires. En l'occurrence, on utilise l'information de la liste des voisins d'une autre cellule du système de communications. Dans un mode de réalisation, pour identifier la voisine inconnue dans une pluralité de cellules candidates, on vérifie si la cellule de desserte figure dans la liste de la voisine d'une cellule candidate. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, pour identifier la voisine inconnue dans une liste de cellules candidates, on vérifie si la cellule candidate figure dans la liste des voisines des cellules identifiées dans l'information de compte rendu de mesures. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, pour identifier la voisine inconnue dans une pluralité de cellules candidates, on vérifie su la cellule candidate appartient à la liste des voisines des cellules voisines de la cellule de desserte. Dans un autre mode de vérification, on utilise l'information de liste des voisines pour générer une carte de réseau virtuelle du système de communication, la voisine inconnue pouvant être identifiée à partir de la carte du réseau.
