The present invention relates to a method of dyeing a substrate with a reactive dyestuff in supercritical or near supercritical carbon dioxide, said substrate being selected from the group consisting of cellulose fibres; modified cellulose fibres; protein fibres; synthetic fibres and any combination thereof, wherein the method comprises dyeing said substrate by contacting the substrate with supercritical or near supercritical carbon dioxide containing a reactive dyestuff and one or more acids in a concentration of at least 0.05 mol.%, calculated on the molar amount of reactive dyestuff that is used in the dyeing method, said reactive dyestuff being a chromophore derivative containing a chromophoric residue and a reactive group, said reactive group comprising a cyclic or heterocyclic aromatic residue that will be protonated under the conditions employed during the contacting, such protonation resulting in enhanced reactivity of the reactive dyestuff towards the plurality of reactive groups contained in the substrate.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de coloration d'un substrat avec un colorant réactif dans du dioxyde de carbone supercritique ou presque supercritique, lequel substrat est sélectionné dans un groupe comprenant des fibres de cellulose, des fibres de cellulose modifiées, des fibres de protéines, des fibres synthétiques et toute combinaison de celles-ci. Le procédé de cette invention consiste à colorer le substrat en mettant ledit substrat en contact avec du dioxyde de carbone supercritique ou presque supercritique contenant un colorant réactif et un ou plusieurs acides selon une concentration d'au moins 0,05 mole % calculée sur la quantité molaire de colorant réactif qui est utilisée dans le procédé de coloration, ledit colorant réactif étant un dérivé chromophore contenant un résidu chromophorique et un groupe réactif, ledit groupe réactif comprenant un résidu aromatique cyclique ou hétérocyclique destiné à être protoné dans les mêmes conditions que celles de la mise en contact, la protonation permettant d'obtenir une plus grande réactivité du colorant réactif à l'égard de la pluralité de groupes réactifs contenus dans le substrat.
