This invention provides a method of identifying biologically active or otherwise valuable substances exuded from or onto a plant surface, specifically the plant cuticle. This invention also provides a method of identifying and recovering substances exuded from or onto the roots of a plant. The invention further comprises libraries of substances exuded or secreted from various plant species, which may be elicited or induced to produce one or more of such substances.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'identifier des produits biologiquement actifs ou présentant une autre valeur, exsudés par une plante ou sur une surface végétale, en particulier sur la cuticule d'une plante. Cette invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'identifier et de récupérer des produits exsudés par les racines d'une plante ou à la surface des racines. L'invention concerne en outre des banques de produits exsudés ou sécrétés par différentes espèces végétales, ces dernières pouvant être stimulées ou activées de manière à produire un ou plusieurs de ces produits.
