A method of improving the compatibility of a fuel additive composition comprising blending together the following components: a) a Mannich condensation product of (1) a high molecular weight alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound, (2) an amine having the formula: (see above formula) wherein A is CH or nitrogen, R1, R2, R3 are independently hydrogen or lower alkyl of 1 to about 6 carbon atoms and each R2 and R3 is independently selected in each -CR2R3- unit, and x is an integer from 1 to about 6; and (3) an aldehyde, wherein the respective molar ratio of reactants (1), (2), and (3) is 1:0.1-2:0.1-2; b) a hydrocarbyl-terminated poly(oxyalkylene) monool; C) a carboxylic acid as represented by the formula: R4(COOH)y wherein R4 represents a hydrocarbyl group having about 2 to about 50 carbon atoms, and y represents an integer of 1 to about 4; and d) an anhydride selected from the group consisting of succinic, glutaric, phthalic, and alkyl anhydrides.

Divulgation d'une méthode pour améliorer la compatibilité d'une composition d'additif pour combustible comportant le mélange des éléments suivants : a) un produit de condensation de réaction de Mannich entre 1) un composé hydroxyaromatique de haut poids moléculaire substitué par un alkyle, 2) une amine de formule : (voir la formule ci-haut) dans laquelle A est CH ou un atome d'azote, R1, R2, R3 sont de manière indépendante un hydrogène ou un alkyle ayant de 1 à environ 6 atomes de carbone et R2 et R3 sont chacun choisi de manière indépendante dans chaque unité -CR2R3-, x est un nombre entier compris entre 1 et environ 6, et 3) un aldéhyde, le rapport molaire des réactifs 1), 2) et 3) étant respectivement de 1/0,1-2/0,1-2; b) un monool poly(oxyalkylénique) terminé par un radical hydrocarboné; c) un acide carboxylique représenté par la formule R4(COOH)y dans laquelle R4 représente un groupe hydrocarboné ayant d'environ 2 à environ 50 atomes de carbone et y représente un nombre entier de 1 à environ 4; d) un anhydride chois parmi le groupe constitué des anhydrides succinique, glutarique, phtalique et alkyliques.
