A method of inhibiting microbial growth in an aqueous medium comprising contacting the aqueous medium with a biocidal material comprising a biocide having a log P value of at least 1.5 immobilised by hydrophobic exclusion on a support having a hydrophobic surface, characterised in that contact is made in the presence of a potentiating agent for the biocide.

Méthode d'inhibition de la prolifération microbienne dans un milieu aqueux, consistant à mettre en contact le milieu aqueux avec une matière biocide composée d'un biocide, dont le log P est égal à au moins 1,5, immobilisé par exclusion hydrophobe sur un support ayant une surface hydrophobe.
