A method of joining together at least two paper sheets (1, 2). The method comprises the steps of moistening each paper sheet (1, 2) with a determined amount of water within the region of the intended join (9); placing the paper sheets together with the moistened regions in abutment with one another; and processing the moistened regions of the combined paper sheets in an ultrasound welding device (7, 8) such that at least 80 percent by weight of the water applied will be removed. The invention also relates to apparatus for carrying out the method and to a join produced by means of said method.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de réunir au moins deux feuilles de papier (1, 2), qui comprend les étapes suivantes : humidifier chaque feuille de papier (1, 2) avec une quantité d'eau déterminée dans la zone de jonction prévue (9); présenter les feuilles considérées de manière à placer les parties humidifiées en appui l'une contre l'autre; et traiter les zones en question des deux feuilles combinées dans un dispositif de soudage ultrasonore (7, 8) de manière à extraire au moins 80 %, en poids, de l'eau qui a été appliquée. L'invention concerne également un appareil pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé décrit et une jonction de papier effectuée suivant ledit procédé.
