There is provided a method for modifying a crystalline molecular sieve material which contains a templating surfactant. The method comprises the step of contacting the crystalline molecular sieve material with a treatment composition which comprises a functionalizing agent, an exchanging moiety and a solvent capable of dissolving the exchanging moiety and the functionalizing agent. The contacting step modifies the crystalline molecular sieve material by functionalizing the molecular sieve material and concurrently removing the templating surfactant from the crystalline molecular sieve material.

Procédé permettant de modifier une matière cristalline pour tamis moléculaire qui contient un tensioactif à formation de matrice. Ledit procédé consiste à mettre en contact la matière cristalline pour tamis moléculaire avec une composition de traitement qui contient un agent de fonctionnalisation, une fraction échangeuse et un solvant capable de dissoudre la fraction échangeuse et l'agent de fonctionnalisation. L'étape de mise en contact modifie la matière cristalline pour tamis moléculaire en fonctionnalisant ladite matière et en éliminant parallèlement le tensioactif à formation de matrice de cette matière.
