A tire molding method is disclosed wherein a segmented mold (2) has lugs (40) in the shoulder regions of the segments (4) with complimentary lug extensions (30) in the sidewall forming annular rings (6, 8). The lug extensions (30) align with and form the appearance of a lug (40) that extends radially inward well into the sidewall of the tire (20). The resultant tire (20) and the mold (2) for making the tire (20) are less costly to fabricate than prior art segmented molds.
L'invention concerne un procédé de moulage de pneus. Un moule segmenté (2) comporte des barrettes (40) dans les zones d'épaulement des segments (4), des extensions de barrettes (30) complémentaires dans les parois latérales formant des anneaux (6, 8). Les extensions de barrettes (30) s'alignent avec les barrettes (40) et prennent la forme de ces dernières qui s'étendent radialement vers l'intérieur de la paroi latérale du pneumatique (20). Le pneumatique ainsi obtenu (20) et le moule (2) de fabrication du pneumatique (20) sont moins chers à fabriquer que les moules segmentés existants.
