A method of invoking, from a device connected to a computer network, an electronic service, from amongst a plurality of such services, available from the network. The method comprises: receiving an electronic signal representative of a request for an electronic service, the service request being expressed in a first ontology; forming a group of mappings each of which specifies a method for mapping from the first ontology to another ontology; using the formed group of mappings to compare the received service request with descriptions of services available on the network expressed in the first ontology or any of the ontologies to which a mapping is available from the first ontology in the formed group of mappings; selecting one of the electronic services available on the network based on the result of the comparison; and transmitting an electronic signal to invoke the selected service.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'appeler à partir d'un dispositif connecté à un réseau d'ordinateurs, un service électronique parmi une pluralité de services disponibles sur le réseau. Ledit procédé consiste à recevoir un signal électronique représentant une demande d'un service électronique, ladite demande étant exprimée dans une première ontologie, à former un groupe de mappages qui spécifient respectivement un procédé de mappage de la première ontologie sur une autre ontologie, à utiliser le groupe formé de mappages afin de comparer la demande de service reçue avec des descriptions de services disponibles sur le réseau exprimés dans la première ontologie ou des ontologies quelconques, parmi lesquelles un mappage est disponible à partir de la première ontologie dans le groupe formé de mappages, à sélectionner un des services électroniques disponibles sur le réseau en fonction du résultat de la comparaison et à transmettre un signal électronique pour demander le service sélectionné.
