A method of preparing a collagen sponge comprises mixing air into a collagen gel, so as to obtain a collagen foam which is dried. From the dried product thereby obtained, collagen sponge is obtained by isolating parts of sponge with a chamber diameter of more than 0.75 mm and less than 4 mm, or parts with an average chamber diagonal dimension of 3 mm. The collagen sponge may be used as a material for sealing wounds, possibly with a coating comprising a fibrin glue, such as a combination of fibrinogen, thrombin and aprotinin. A device for extracting a part of a collagen foam and for degenerating another part of the collagen foam to a collagen gel is disclosed. An elongated collagen sponge having a through-going hole or bore and a flexible wall may be used for re- establishing walls in a mammalian gastrointestinal funnel or trachea system.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de préparer une éponge collagénique qui consiste à mélanger de l'air avec un gel de collagène de façon à obtenir une mousse collagénique séchée. A partir du produit séché ainsi obtenu, l'éponge collagénique est produite par isolation de parties d'éponge à diamètre de chambre supérieur à 0,75 mm et inférieur 4 mm, ou de parties dont la dimension moyenne de chambre en diagonale est égale à 3 mm. On peut utiliser cette éponge collagénique comme matériau de fermeture de plaies, éventuellement associé à un revêtement comprenant une colle à base de fibrine, telle qu'une combinaison de fibrinogène, de thrombine et d'aprotinine. L'invention concerne également un dispositif permettant d'extraire une partie d'une mousse collagénique et de dégénérer l'autre partie en un gel de collagène. On peut également utiliser une éponge collagénique allongée dotée d'un alésage ou d'un trou traversant et d'une paroi souple pour restaurer les parois du tunnel gastro-intestinal ou du système de trachée d'un mammifère.
