A method of preparing calcium silicate hydrate granules by reacting crystalline and optionally amorphous silica or materials containing the same with calcium oxide or materials containing the same by homogenising them in water, moulding, autoclave curing, comminuting, drying and classifying, the homogenisation being performed by dispersing the solid starting materials in water while adding an anionic surfactant that has previously been converted in water into a microporous stable foam, wherein the homogenised mixture is filled, to a maximum depth of 60 cm, into moulds which are at least 5 square meters in area; a product obtainable by this method and its use in animal litter.
La présente invention concerne un procédé pour préparer des granulés d'hydrate de silicate de calcium. Ce procédé consiste à mettre en réaction de la silice cristalline et éventuellement amorphe ou des matériaux renfermant cette dernière avec de l'oxyde de calcium ou des matériaux renfermant de dernier, à les homogénéiser dans de l'eau, à les mouler, à les cuire en autoclave, à les fragmenter, à les sécher et à les classer. L'homogénéisation est réalisée par dispersion des matériaux solides de départ dans de l'eau et par ajout simultané d'un agent tensio-actif anionique qui a préalablement été transformé dans de l'eau en une mousse microporeuse stable. Le mélange homogénéisé est ensuite introduit, jusqu'à une profondeur maximale de 60 cm, dans des moules d'au moins 5 mètres carrés de superficie. La présente invention concerne également un produit obtenu selon ledit procédé, ainsi que son utilisation dans de la litière pour animaux.
