A method of machining an article (30) including the steps of providing a resilient article having a lower face with a predetermined profile and an upper face (32); providing a reference article with an upper face (36) having a reference profile; abutting at least part of the lower face against the reference article upper face and applying force (45) to resiliently deform the resilient article a predetermined amount whereby the lower face of the resilient article substantially conforms to the shape of the reference article upper face; machining the upper face of the resilient article to a predetermined configuration; releasing the force applied to deform the resilient article whereby the upper face or the resilient article deforms to adopt a desired configuration.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'usinage d'un article (30) comprenant les étapes suivantes: réaliser un article élastique présentant une face inférieure ayant un profil prédéterminé et une face supérieure (32); réaliser un article de référence présentant une face supérieure (36) ayant un profil de référence; placer en about au moins une partie de la face inférieure contre la face supérieure de l'article de référence et appliquer une force (45) pour déformer par résilience l'article élastique dans une meure prédéterminée, de manière que la face inférieure de l'article élastique corresponde sensiblement à la forme de la face supérieure de l'article de référence; usiner la face supérieure de l'article élastique selon une configuration prédéterminée, relâcher la force appliquée pour déformer l'article élastique, de manière que la face supérieure de l'article élastique se déforme pour adopter la configuration voulue.
