A method of producing an overhead contact wire for supplying power to electrically driven vehicles is proposed which comprises a copper-clad steel wire and a copper wire that is metallically joined to the copper-clad steel wire. The method includes the following steps: a) heating a steel wire to a temperature about 950°C; b) joining first and second metal band sections to a surface of the steel wire by means of rolling at a temperature of about 950°C under protective gas atmosphere to produce a combined element; c) reducing the cross-section of the combined element by at least 20%; d) heating a copper wire to a temperature about 950°C; e) joining the heated copper wire to the reduced diameter combined element in the area covered by the first band section by rolling at about 950°C under protective gas to produce a prepared wire; and f) reducing the cross-section of the prepared wire to produce an overhead contact wire.
Cette invention concerne une méthode de fabrication de fil de contact aérien pour l'alimentation de véhicules à traction électrique, méthode selon laquelle un câble d'acier gainé de cuivre et un câble en cuivre sont assemblés mécaniquement. La méthode comporte les étapes suivantes : a) chauffage d'un câble d'acier à environ 950 degrés Celsius; b) assemblage d'une première et d'une deuxième bandes de métal à la surface du câble d'acier par laminage à chaud à la température d'environ 950 degrés Celsius et sous atmosphère gazeuse de protection pour obtenir un produit composite; c) réduction de la section du produit composite par au moins 20 %; d) chauffage d'un câble de cuivre à une température d'environ 950 degrés Celsius; e) assemblage par laminage à chaud (environ 950 degrés Celsius) et sous atmosphère gazeuse de protection du câble de cuivre chauffé au produit composite de section réduite, le câble de cuivre étant placé sur la région du câble d'acier recouverte par la première bande de métal susmentionnée; et f) réduction de la section du produit ainsi obtenu pour réaliser le fil de contact aérien souhaité.
