ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: To proteolytically cleave proteins, in particular proenzymes, in a controlled and restricted manner, a treatment with proteases is carried out in the presence of a detergent or in the presence of a chaotropic substance, with the exception of coagulatively active salts. Therein, enzymes or protein fragments are recovered. The method is particularly explained by way of an easily effected method of a purposeful cleavage of prothrombin for the recovery of thrombin.
