A method for reducing the hydrogen halide(s) content of a synthesis gas stream by gasifying a carbonaceous feed material in a gasifier to produce a gas/solids mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen halide gas, and fly slag particles; passing the gas/solids mixture to a solids removal zone where at least a portion of the fly slag particles are removed, to produce a gas stream; admixing with the said gas stream an alkali metal oxide, hydroxide, bicarbonate, or carbonate to produce an alkali metal compound/gas mixture; passing the alkali metal compound/gas mixture to a means for increasing the contact time between said hydrogen halide(s) and said alkali metal compound(s) or their thermal docomposition products; reacting the alkali metal compound(s) with the said hydrogen halide(s) to produce solid alkali metal halide(s); and recovering a gas stream substantially free of hydrogen halide(s) and solids.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour réduire la teneur en halogénure(s) d'hydrogène d'un courant de gaz de synthèse. Ce procédé consiste à gazéfier une matière d'alimentation carbonée dans un gazéficateur pour produire un mélange gaz/solides d'hydrogène, de monoxyde de carbone, de gaz d'halogénure d'hydrogène, et de particules de scories volantes; à faire passer le mélange gaz/solides vers une zone de retrait des solides où au moins une partie des particules de scories volantes sont retirées pour produire un courant de gaz; à ajouter à ce courant de gaz un oxyde de métal alcalin, de l'hydroxyde, du bicarbonate ou du carbonate pour produire un mélange composé métallique alcalin/gaz; à faire passer le mélange composé métallique alcalin/gaz vers un moyen destiné à augmenter le temps de contact entre ledit(lesdits) halogénure(s) d'hydrogène et ledit(lesdits) composé(s) de métal(métaux) alcalin(s) ou leurs produits de décomposition thermique; à faire réagir le(s) composé(s) alcalin(s) avec ledit(lesdits) halogénure(s) d'hydrogène pour produire un(des) halogénure(s) de métal(métaux) alcalin(s); et à récupérer un courant de gaz sensiblement dépourvu d'halogénure(s) d'hydrogène et de solides.
