The invention pertains to a process for preparing a catalyst composition comprising bulk catalyst particles comprising at least one Group VIII non-noble metal and at least two Group VIB metals, which process comprises combining and reacting at least one Group VIII non-noble metal component with at least two Group VIB metal components in the presence of a protic liquid, with at least one of the metal components remaining at least partly in the solid state during the entire process. The invention further relates to a catalyst composition obtainable by said process and to the use thereof in hydroprocessing applications.

Cette invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'une composition de catalyseur comprenant des particules de catalyseur en vrac qui se composent d'au moins un métal non noble du groupe VIII et d'au moins deux métaux du groupe VIB. Ce procédé consiste à combiner et à faire réagir au moins un composant métal non noble du groupe VIII et au moins deux composants métal du groupe VIB en présence d'un liquide protique, l'un au moins des composants métalliques restant au moins partiellement à l'état solide durant tout le processus. Cette invention concerne également une composition de catalyseur qui est obtenue à partir de ce procédé, ainsi que son utilisation dans des applications d'hydrocraquage.
